Download latest version: FFCopy.v0.93.zip (Setup, 444 kb)
FF Copy is a file queue transfer manager for windows networks. It allows you to add files to a copy/move transfer queue which will be downloaded one after another. This increases speed in comparison to transferring multiple files / folders at the same time.
In comparison to copying with the windows explorer you can start/stop/pause/resume transfers. If the source becomes unavailable, FF Copy tries to continue the transfer for a while, then goes to the next file in the queue. Once it tried all files it will again resume with the first incomplete file. So you will not loose the whole transfer if the network connection breaks down after 99%!
This program is especially useful when you copy files over a VPN, where the connection is lost for a short time every time the IP of a VPN member changes. If you want to make your own VPN: I can only recommend using hamachi! It's easy to setup like installing an Instant Messenger and then you can directly access files from windows explorer!
Of cause you can also use FF Copy to copy files locally to increase
speed compared to copying multiple files simultanously.
Features:
Explorer Integration:
Select multiple files and / or folders in Windows Explorer. Drag them with the right mouse button to a valid download location. In the context menu select "Copy with FF Copy" or "Move with FF Copy". FF Copy is started (if not already running) and the files will be added as copy / move tasks. If you enabled "Auto-Start Downloads" then the transfers will immediately start.
Alternative Usage I:
First select a valid Destination Folder on your local machine (last 5 locations will be remembered). Then drag files or folders into the download list to add them to the queue, the files and folders will be transferred to the folder that was selected when adding the files. You can start or stop all downloads and you can pause/resume individual files in the queue. Doubleclick a completed file to open it.
Alternative Usage II:
In the menu click on "File", select one of the "New Task" entries, then select source files and destination folder from the upcoming dialog boxes.
